So far mobile game development hasn’t been at all that bad. We’ve each been given a PDA to play with and using C++ and Gapidraw we have to produce a prototype game with network capability within the next three weeks. I decided to work on a Track and Field style game called Fat Shatner’s Olympic Touch. I am working towards finishing at least two events, the100 meters and the long jump. You can see the progress so far in the screenshot below.
Currently the background and character are animated. The character currently has two animation cycles, running and idle. The character is controlled by moving the styles back and forth across the screen, so far, so good.
I have to give a short presentation on Monday detailing the plans for Fat Shatner. Hopefully if the prototype works well, I’ll continue its development by adding more and more events and may even attempt to sell it on websites like Handango.
In other, more personal news, I’ve purchased Football Manager 2006 which I feel may ruin my life. Hopefully this illness won’t last too long but friends and family are still concerned.
I’ll keep you informed on Fat Shatner’s Olympic Touch, Later.
